Dr. Al-Omar has held various important leadership positions, some of which include; Chairman of the Medical City Council, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Al-Farabi Colleges, Chairman of Riyadh Valley Company and Vice Rector of Princess Noura University.
He completed his Ph.D. in health and hospital administration from Wales University, in 1995. After which he completed his CHQ (Certificate in Health Quality) from University of Oklahoma in 1999. He completed his B.A. in Quantitative Methods from King Saud University in 1984 and did his Post-Graduation Diploma in Operational Research from Lancaster University in 1986. Dr. Al-Omar went on to complete his MHHA degree in health and hospital administration from King Saud University in 1990.
Dr Al-Omar has an Honorary LLD Degree awarded by Swansea University in 2015. He was also awarded an Honorary PhD. Degree in public administration by Gachon University in 2014 for his outstanding services towards public administration.
Dr Al-Omar became a lecturer of Master’s Program in Hospital & Health Administration at King Saud University in 1990. He also served as a faculty member of Quality Management Diploma Training Program, MOH, Riyadh from 1998 to 2000. He has been serving as Adjunct Professor at Liberal Studies, University of Oklahoma since 2001. In 1995, he became Assistant Professor at King Saud University where he became a Professor in 2005.
He has published numerous books, research papers and been an important member of many scientific conferences.
